It’s time to put the date on your calendar for the upcoming 2019 Rural Recognition Banquet. This year’s 51st annual salute to agribusiness professionals will be Tuesday, March 19th at Platte County Ag Park.
The Chamber’s Agribusiness Committee is this week announcing the winners of their annual awards, who will be honored at the banquet. The Committee congratulates:
2019 Outstanding Woman in Agriculture – Carla Berlin
Outstanding Senior Farmer – Galyn Johannes
Outstanding Area Farmer – Robert Larson
Agribusiness Pioneer – Pig Express
Ag Impact Award – Mac Hull/Tasty Toppings
The Ag Committee had some difficult choices to make for this year’s honorees as they had plenty of talented professionals in the nomination pool. Those attending the banquet will be impressed and inspired in hearing the stories of these honorees!
General admission tickets to the event are $20 and they are now available at the Chamber office. You can also reserve a spot online at www.thecolumbuspage.com.
Tickets are complimentary to any ag producer through the sponsorship of the local business community. The strong showing each year of those sponsors indicates the local business community understands the value of agriculture from the field to “mainstreet” and the recognition that agriculture is Nebraska’s #1 industry.
I would encourage anyone in agriculture to take advantage of the complimentary tickets. We really do appreciate the contributions of the ag community to our region’s economy and the lifestyle that we enjoy and want to see many producers there for the banquet.
The Chamber’s Agribusiness Committee shares the evening with the Platte County Ag Society and Platte County 4-H program, as they also honor their outstanding volunteers that evening. So you will also learn the 4-H program’s “Friends of 4-H” award-winners and those who will receive the Meritorious Service Awards from 4-H as well.
